Cinnamon apples are basically a comfort food. They’re delicious on their own, in oatmeal, for desserts, etc. This recipe is 3 ingredients (one is the apple) and when you think about it, is quite healthy. I do have a fourth optional ingredient which I do add sometimes, but is not necessary. This is all in the microwave, and can be done in under five minutes!
(Sorry for the late post, I had lots of really nice weather, my birthday, etc.)
Ingredients:
- 1 Apple
- 1-3 tbsp water, or enough until the water is just visible among the apple
- 2 tsp or a preferred amount of ground cinnamon sprinkled on top
- A small drizzle of honey (optional)
Why these ingredients?
Apple: You of course need an apple for cinnamon apples!
Cinnamon: You need cinnamon for flavor!
Water: For a nice consistency, and so the apples steam better
Honey: This can be used for a bit of extra sweetness, and a more reduced cinnamon “sauce.” It’s healthier than sugar too, and in my opinion, tastes better in cinnamon apples.
